On November 1, 2010, the Boonville City Council mandated food handling training for all food service personnel at all permanent and temporary food establishments. The CCPHC will provide classes free of charge for supervisors and classes in basic food handling safety.
Supervisor classes are required for individuals who manage a food establishment. In addition, at least one person involved with the preparation or selling of food for fundraising, festivals, or community events must attend this class. This class will last about two hours.
Classes will be held in the basement conference room at the Cooper County Public Health Center located at 17040 Klinton Drive, Boonville. We recommend car pooling as parking is limited at the back of the building. You may have to park in the front and walk around to the back.
All classes begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Additional classes will be scheduled during the year based upon attendance of these scheduled classes. Beginning January 2014, individuals that have successfully completed and have an unexpired Basic or Supervisor Food Handlers Card may view the PowerPoint Presentation for the Basic or Supervisor class from our website. After reviewing the PowerPoint, you may come to a regularly scheduled food handlers class and take the test to renew your card. You must receive a 75% or above on the test to receive your new card. There is no charge for renewal of your food handling card.
