For Immediate Release.
The Cooper County Public Health Center is aware that many citizens are anxiously awaiting the details of Phase 2 for recovery during the pandemic. While the executive order extending the emergency is available online (https://www.sos.mo.gov/library/reference/orders/2020), the details of how Phase 2 is to be carried out has not been made available. As soon as a copy is received, we will share it on our website and Facebook.
Our office has received multiple requests for mass testing. Cooper County has a low disease attack rate and therefore is not a high priority to receive mass testing supplies. Rest assured I have requested the desire and need for mass testing. Cooper County Public Health Center continues to provide testing on an as needed basis per The Department of Health and Senior Services guidelines. Testing is done by appointment only. For the safety of our clients and staff, walk-ins will not be accepted. Individuals with symptoms will be tested from their vehicle once approval has been obtained from the Department of Health and Senior Services Covid support line. Please call 660-882-2626 to consult with a nurse regarding being tested.
Thank you very much.
Respectfully,
Melanie J. Hutton RN, MSN
